Cane Farm and Mill Tour
Follow sugar from Paddock to Port. Start with a pick up from Mackay (city) and travel to a sugar cane farm to see the harvesting and haul out process of the cane. Have morning tea and a chat with the operator or growers. We then witness some planting of the cane, if available on the day, then head over to the Farleigh Tavern for lunch over looking the mill and cane fields. We then go down to the Farleigh sugar mill to be guided through a working mill. Then travel out to Mackay port to see where the sugar is stored and transported from.
